Friends re-visited
Last night, after a couple weeks of trying, I finally got together with two great friends from my past. One I've known since second grade and the other since sixth grade. I'm 44, so we're talking 37 and 33 years that we have known each other! We had drifted apart and not had any real contact with each other for the past 20 something years. They are two of the ones I was talking about in my Friends blog that I have reconnected with recently. I had a great night. There was not a single awkward moment or any silence, there was alot of laughs. Much needed laughs on my part. I can't wait to get together with them again. I really don't see us drifting apart again anytime soon. I am so thankful for the reconnections with all of the friends from my past who meant alot to me. Maybe the end of the world is coming and this is closure. Who knows? Thanks for listening, Kevin

DeleteKevin, for some totally unexplainable reason, I never (until this minute) read your very first post of February "Where do I start?"(I guess I just 'thought' I had read it but hadn't) the one with the lovely photo of you and Shelly. Now I understand so much. I felt the pain in your posts but not the reasons - until now. I just wanted you and Shelly to know this. You are both grieving terribly. And to compound things, Shelly has the health issue as well. And yes the road will be a long one but if shared together the length may lessen a little. I lost my beloved husband a few years ago and a step-daughter before that. This is not about me, and I have only mentioned that so that you know there are people out there who can empathise with your pain. So, on a final note vent away mate, if this blog helps you to be the person you need to be for both yourself and for Shelly, then stick with it!! I do so hope that my writing this in your comment section is OK with you (it doesn't bother me)- I couldn't find an email (if that is what you would have preferred) Hugs to you and your lovely Shelly from around the other side of the bloody world. When you're refreshed and awake, (have no idea what time it is where you are) cause I don't know where you are!! The US that's all I know. Now Kevin, at the very same time you were leaving a comment on my Blog, smartie pants here was doing some fine tuning and when I went to look at the changes I had made in the comments (just set-out etc) EEEEEEEK, what did I find??? You had been there, but it said "comment removed by author"......well, I did not!! So you better go right on back there and re-comment. :))

ReplyDeleteHey Kevin, that's great!! I'll check in when I get up on this side of the world (I think it will be your lunch time or early arvo) when I arise! Let me know where abouts you are and then I'll have a better idea of your time V here. And be careful - now that you're discovering photos etc, you're gonna get HOOKED ! And have you discovered how time consuming getting a post ready can be when you're trying to figure out photos AND text ??!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear - I hope I get some back-up on this one, Jim?? anyone??? but Kevin, while you are experimenting with your photos could you find another font-type (and larger) that an old woman and her poor old eyes can see better? I'm starting to walk about with a permanent cross-eyed look about me ! You're a gem !
ReplyDeleteKEVIN, Your new post with photos hasn't worked - you're gonna have to go back to the drawing board!! The totally weird thing is that your ATTEMPT came through to my Blog Notification area in my dashboard but I cant click it open from there and its certainly not here on your Blog - not even listed in your Blog archives list to the right. What a disappointment! Don't give up now!! We're all hanging by our toenails for this!!!
