A new start

It's time for me to start over. I got a new job and gave my two weeks notice Monday morning. I've been thinking about it for awhile. I hate changing jobs! But I'm not getting any younger, and I want to find someplace to retire from, and I didn't see it happening where I was. I'm excited  (and nervous) about where I'm going and what I'll be doing. It's funny how you see who you're true work friends are after you quit. After 8 years there, alot of my co-workers have become like family and I will miss some of them (like any family there's some I won't miss. lol). But overall, people have been cool with me. There are some surprises, people that acted like your friend all along, and you find out they're really not. I really hate being lied too. But I have seen that there are people there that care, and that means alot to me. And of course Shelly and my non-work friends have been there for me through this decision. So I'm excited and nervous about this change. And I hope that the work-friends that I have now will become my non-work friends, and we'll keep in touch. Thanks for listening, Kevin

  1. I too hope that you enjoy your new job. You have gotten nothing but good feed back from everyone you know who is working there and who has worked there.. Just be yourself and do your job and go with the flow.. I know you will do GREAT and so do alot of other people. Keep your confidance up and but some super magnifying glasses and you will make waves in a good way.. We are all Rooting for you!!!!

  2. Hi Kevin+Shelly--You're doing the right thing for sure..I know for a fact that if some of your co-workers had the chance (and the youth)to do it all over again, that they would do exactly what you are doing..Gotta know when to bail out even if it scares you a bit. After the initial few weeks pass and you get into the new flow of things you'll do fine. I wish you the VERY best of luck at the new job..

    1. Thanks Jim! What co-workers are you talking about? Lol. I'm gonna miss our daily chats, but I really hope you and I stay in touch. You're one of the ones I will miss.

  3. Wow Kevin! I go away for a few days and look what you get up to!! Seriously, congratulations for taking the plunge, and being able to gauge what you see as being the best plan for your future. A big exciting change like this can sometimes permeate out into other areas of your life as well. When it's apt to do so, would love to hear what you're going to be doing (especially as Shelly intimated you're going to need BIG fat glasses to do it!!)
It's obvious that the people who count are barracking for you big time! So from across the other side of the globe - "whoo-hoo, go get 'em mate!"
