First off, I want to thank all the veterans, past, present and future for their service. I know, I'm a day late, but they should be shown appreciation throughout the whole year and not just on their holidays. I have the up most respect for everyone who has served and are serving. A Big Thank You To All OfYou! Pretty uneventful here since my last post. One of my highlights, speaking of veterans, was doing some target shooting with my buddy Jim(Time Traveler). I had a great time, even though Jimmy is a much better shot than me( I'm gonna get some private lessons. lol). Like I've said before it's a great stress reliever. Nothin' like shootin' a .45 to get the mind right! Alot of fun. Can't wait to go with you again Jimmy!

I so wanted to get muzzle blast in the pic! Sorry Jimmy. |
Then yesterday Shelly and I made the annual pilgrimage to Otis, Mass. to get Chicken Gickem. If you guessed that Chicken Gickem is processed chicken poop, you're right! Great stuff for all the plants. So we made the 50 mile, each way, trip only to find out they are sold out! Not gonna have any till fall! I need it now! Time for plan B( Future post, maybe). I was gonna bring some back for a couple of friends also, sorry Lannie and Leanne. At least it was a nice day for ride, and it's a beautiful ride! The old route 8 meanders alongside the Farmington river for quite awhile and we stopped at Colebrook Reservoir. I was disappointed about not getting my chicken poop, but it was a nice ride and the Otis Poultry Store is pretty cool. Shelly got a couple things for Amber's memorial garden and of course we got some home-made fudge. Thanks for listening, Kevin

Awww that's the sweetest thing you were going to buy me chicken poop! I remember when I was a kid my grandma always kept a shovel and bucket in her trunk. When we drove buy fields with cows she would stop and trompse off into the field shovel and bucket in hand to get cow manure for her gardens. Fond memories. Thanks for thinking of me your a true friend. Love ya Lannie

DeleteWoW--Pretty cool place (if your not a chicken)..I remember you gave us some of that chicken poop for Carol's tomatoes..I've been out that way alot-you're right, it's beautiful country and some nice fishing spots right off the road..You don't give yourself enough credit-you're a good shot--it's just that some of us are natural born killers....LOL--talk to you soon--Jim
