Molon Labe

" Molon Labe" was the response of King Leonidas of Sparta when the Persians told the Spartans to lay down their weapons and surrender in 480 B.C. Molon Labe translates to "Come and Take Them".  Me and every other law-abiding gun owner in America are fed up with this big anti-gun movement that's taking place now in America. The anti-gunners don't base their stupidity on facts. I did research for this post and could have kept going. The post would have been pages long, so, I'll just vent as usual, with some facts thrown in. This is a subject that I am passionate about. I have had my permit to carry a pistol in the state of Connecticut for 23 years, since I was 22. Like most legal gun owners,  I have never used a gun illegally and none of my guns have done anything bad by themselves. Only 4% of guns obtained legally are used in crimes. So, Why is the government trying to ban them? Oh yeah, right now it's just the "bad" guns that they are going after, the ones that look "mean".

The SKS shoots a larger round than the AR-15, but it has a 10 round fixed magazine and doesn't look as mean, so it's not on the hit list. For now! I really feel that the final goal of this government right now is to disarm all Americans. If not, than why has the Dept. of Homeland Security stockpiled 1.6 Billion rounds of ammo(enough to fight the Iraq war for 24 years) and ordered numerous armoured vehicles. Just remember, Hitler's first order of business was to disarm the public. This government knows that it would not be an easy task to disarm Americans, especially the ones that believe in the 2nd Amendment. About 45% of American households(52 million) own firearms. There are between 260 and 310 million guns in private citizens hands in the U.S. 89 firearms for every 100 Americans.

I don't know if the anti-gunners realize(they should) that the bigger stink they make, more guns go into civilian's hands. Another thing that they should realize(but it doesn't fit their agenda), crime decreases with more legal gun sales.Gun Control does not reduce crime! Check the facts, you're an idiot if you think it does. After guns were banned in the U.K, armed robbery went up 40% and after they were banned in Australia armed robbery went up 44%(correct me if my facts are wrong Rose). Guns are used 4 times as often in self defense as in a crime and 98% of the time it is not fired.. 99.9% of all legal guns in America are not used in violent crimes. 99.8% of the legal guns in America are not used in crime at all. But the ones trying to ban, especially our V.P. Biden, give the stupidest advice. Biden proclaimed that "assault rifles"(By the way, they are not assault rifles, they are semi-auto sporting rifles) aren't needed, all one needs is a double barrel shotgun and shoot in the air or through the door. Really? Are you really that stupid Joe? All of us law-abiding gun owners know better than to do either of those. And you are gonna tell me I can't have my guns? Really? Our fore fathers are turning over in their graves and wanting to come back and kick some ass! Our modern day government is the reason they wrote the Constitution and our Bill of Rights. It's a total shame that the politicians and anti-gunners use a tragedy like Sandy Hook to try and push their agenda. They want to impose bans and pass laws before all the facts are out. WTF! And the bans and laws they want to pass would have no impact on a tragedy like that happening again. I'm all for never seeing a tragedy like that happen again, but let's do this right. All I keep hearing on the news is how bad guns are, not how bad the idiot was holding that inanimate object! Guns, knives, rocks, fists, etc. are only bad in the wrong mentality. It's simple, I believe in the 2nd amendment and this is what I've used my guns for, target shooting with friends.

I enjoy having guns to go target shooting with friends, great stress relief, but I also like being able to protect myself, loved ones, and even innocent bystanders if the need ever arose(hope it never does), but I also want them for the reason the founding fathers of this country created the 2nd amendment, so the government doesn't become a dictatorship. It seems that federal and local government want a dictatorship though. V.P. Biden has even stated that the laws and bans that they want to enact, may not stop mass killings. No Shit! Really? But they will make millions of law-abiding citizens, criminals, overnight! They keep pushing that it's all worth it if just one life is saved. How about all the lives that are saved everyday from lawful gun owners? Remember, guns are used 4 times more in self-defense than in crimes, 98% of the time not having to fire. Why are these stories not in the media? Oh, yeah, the media is liberal and wants to be politically correct!

Underneath the flag in the above pic it says "United We Stand", I hope that still holds true today! I think it does, judging from what I've been reading and hearing. I hope the government is smart enough to not pursue this infringement on 2nd Amendment rights any further. An army, 52 million strong, is not something to mess with. I guess that's why they are getting all the armoured vehicles. I hope the military and police choose the side of our forefathers,Please, let's do this right. Let's not let a small hand full of politicians destroy this country(I didn't even get into economic issues!).

I guess I gotta wrap this up, or I'm gonna keep rambling more than I already am. The bottem line is, I hope this situation doesn't get as bad as I think it might. And if Big Brother is reading this, so be it. Molon Labe! Thanks for listening, Kevin
