I spend way too much time sitting home alone. It gets really lonely, boring and depressing at times. Like I've said before, I've never been one that enjoys being alone. So, over the course of the last few weeks I went on a shopping spree. My most recent purchase was a much needed new computer. Dell had a good sale going on last weekend and I received it this past Friday. What a difference! It's more than twice the machine that I had. I can't wait to shoot the old one. Most of my shopping was done on Ebay. I spent way too much. Aside from a few things, most of what I bought was gun accessories. I spent more than I should have, but my rifles and shotguns all look pretty cool now. Also more functional. The start of my shopping spree began the last time I went to the pet store to get dog food. I always check out the reptiles when I go. On this trip they had a tarantula for sale. I've always wanted a tarantula, but, I won't do impulse buys with living things. So, I came home and did some research on keeping tarantulas as pets. Main food source is crickets. I wasn't too sure about doing the cricket thing again. I've done it in the past for a couple of lizards that I had. Snakes and spiders don't bother me, but, crickets freak me out. Don't like 'em! Yes, I know I'm strange. So while I was debating about the tarantula, I went back to the pet store to look at it again and saw a beautiful Pueblan Milk snake for sale. These snakes are the same colors as the venomous Coral snakes and it's these two snakes that the old rhyme are about. "Red touches black, venom it lacks. Red touches yellow, will kill a fellow". I thought about it for a few days and went back and bought it. He/she doesn't like being held yet. Hasn't bit me yet, but goes through the motions! It's quite feisty!

Isn't he/she a beauty?

So I fed the snakes and was sitting here bored again, thought I'd better write a blog instead of going on Ebay. Lol. Thanks for listening, Kevin
Let's see if my comment takes this time!
ReplyDeleteHi Kevin, great news over the new computer! Does this mean you'll be blogging more?
Your new addition is truly beautiful, the colours and markings are remarkable. Isn't nature and its creatures grand.
You've had a good spend-up, and in a lady's world it's called Retail Therapy and trust me it works!
Good to see you having a blog-chat.
Stay smiling! You're doing the 'alone thing' much better now me-thinks!

Hi Rose! I should have bought a computer awhile ago, What a difference! The other one just kept freezing up, I couldn't do much of anything. I gotta get over your way and catch up. The snake is beautiful in person. Just a baby, it will get to be about 4 feet long. I agree, nature is amazing. The shopping spree was a fun ride, but I gotta stay off Ebay for awhile now. Lol. Yeah, I'm getting used to the alone thing. It has it's perks at times, no one to stop my shopping spree, no one telling me I can't get the tattoo that I'm getting next week. Lol. I think I'll bring my camera when I get it and do a post on it. Great "talking" to you Rose and I'll be over your way soon. Kevin
